Solomon Smiles

St. George

We spent Memorial Day weekend in Saint George. It was Solomon's first road trip! He did great!

Solomon is 5 weeks old today, unbelievable! The weeks are flying by. This is my favorite picture from the last 3 weeks...

Sol updates:

  • As you can see Sol is totally into his little infant gym. He works those fuzzy little jungle animals over with his failing arms. Its so cute. Eyes wide, of course, thats his style.

  • Solomon smiled for the first time, at his daddy of course, on Friday May 16. It was beautiful, a big full face smile. I was holding him and Dave was standing over him talking to him. He smiled in response to his dad's voice.
  • Sol 'coo-d' for the first time yesterday (May 19). I was talking to him and he talked back. So sweet, my heart melted.

In other updates my sister Michelle and her hubby were passing through Provo this last week and stopped for a few days. It was so much fun to hang out with lil sis, I hadn't really spent time with her in almost a year. I really really missed her. Solomon loved his auntie Michelle, he was very happy hanging out with her. Come back soon sis!

Some of my favorites from the last week...

He's waving :)

Solomon loves to set up on your shoulder and look around. His head bobs around as he tries to hold it up, his eyes wide the whole time. He's constantly looking around with his big yummy eyes.

Sweet sleeping boy.

I'm in love.

Can you tell he's growing! He's really starting to fill out. He's eating more and starting to pack on the baby fat. More to love!

I'm really enjoying being home and just focusing on Solomon all day. Its hard work some times but never gets old. So rewarding. I love when he looks at me with his big blue eyes, so vulnerable, so unassuming, so pure. He takes after his mom and dad, he's a social boy. He loves to have anyone talk to him and throws a fit if he thinks he's alone. I can relate.

As I'm writing this post its raining outside and lightening and thundering. So exciting! The first real thunderstorm of the spring. Ella gets nervous when it thunders, she's laying on my feet right now. I love to be in a quiet house during a thunderstorm. Its therapy.

Life is sweet. :)

Growing and changing

Solomon turned 2 weeks old this week. He's starting to grow and change so I thought I'd post some new pictures. At his doctors appointment this week he weighed 8lbs 2 oz (half a pound bigger than his birth weight) and measured 21 inches (1.5 inches longer than his birth length). It makes me a little sad, but I'm happy to know he's getting what he needs to grow. I'm trying to enjoy this newborn stage as much as possible.

I don't have much to post about...every day is the same yet every day is very different. Sol has the newborn basics down. He's eating great, sleeping very well, and poops like a champ. :) How did we get so lucky as to have such a special baby!
